Boy blue, a nursery for Baby Watts

What a lucky little boy Baby Watts is. Coming home to this incredible room. It’s full of fun, colour and best of all an easy transition room.

Mel and Nolan really wanted to give each of their kids their own room. This meant sizing a couple of them down. I think all of this kids will be very grateful for their own rooms as they grown and it was a great idea to do this.

The nursery is one of the two smaller rooms. When choosing furniture we had to be somewhat careful that we weren’t incorporating forever pieces that were too large.

One of Mel and Nolan’s main desires was to have a gorgeous rocking chair in the nursery. We were fairly concerned that the space was going to be to small for one, and honestly the room is borderline too small, but we couldn’t resist the Hobbe Positano Rocking chair and ottoman because not only is it a gorgeous shape, and a nice size, but once Mel and Nolan finish feeding in the nursery it will fit nicely in their lounge room and an occasional chair. (nolan is most excited about this).

The wallpaper is a real statement. Both myself and Mel really liked the colours and wanted something that could easily suit both a baby and a young boy. Lots of colours and patterns, great for kids and a nice change from the standard pastel palette we see in most nurseries and kids rooms.

Something I was desperate to include were some Australian animal illustrations. They too are not restrictive to a baby/kids room, which I really like. There is nothing worse then buying something that won’t last the distance. Plus, children grow so quickly so before she know’s it I’m sure Mel will be putting these incredible Carmen Hui illustrations in her own room and replacing the others with old Michael Jordan posters. I tracked Carmen down through the wonderful world on Instagram, She has worked tirelessly on creating this incredible series for the Nursery and you will soon find them online on her store. That koala!!! seriously good.

The rug, like Indie’s room is from Alisa & Lysandra is a natural colour to tie in with the natural wood on the cot and Mocka Marlow cabinet.

All the little bits that are scattered around the room are pieces that this little boy will be able to play with now and as he grows. I’m sure his sisters have been having a good go at them already! The play bar and toys from Bella Buttercup are gorgeous. The quality is amazing, and they make the most precious baby shower gift.

Hope you love it as much as we do. You can see the full list of products below.
